Ok first I’m gonna dive in and tell you guys what is new about it then I’ll show you guys some of the songs I mastered with it and then I’ll tell you my opinions on it. All right let’s dive right in the shallow end. just FYI guys I’m doing work on my house today I can’t stop that I’m gonna try to edit it out in post though. Alright so what’s new, the low end focus tool, make your low frequencies clear and punchy not getting artifacts from EQ and compression. The punchy and smooth modes both let you make your bass bump more so make sure you find the right settings The low end focus is only available with ozone 9 advanced. Then there’s the master rebalance tool, you can adjust the volume on the drums, bass, or vocals and you don’t need the stems for it which is pretty amazing, but again only available with ozone 9 advanced. This could be great for subtle changes and masters to make certain sections pop out more, like if you want the vocal to pop out more or the drums or the bass at the drop. There’s a match EQ, the name says it all really. Then they improved the loading and algorithms as well as the EQ. You can emulate classic analog EQs or digital EQs depending on what you’re going for. You can use the mid side mode to correct frequencies in the side or middle of your song (thong). Finally you can resize the window. I’ve been waiting my whole life. Buy office 2016 for mac. They’ve improved the stereo imager giving you a new algorithm which is one of the coolest things about ozone, and the new imager is available in all editions of ozone. First i mastered this song for here’s the song beforehand as you can see it feels like the drums are getting kind of buried, so what I did as far as mastering, basically just did the master assistant for all these and I did some manual changes as well. alright so that’s what it sounded like beforehand and with this specific one I decided to use the the master rebalance tool to make the drums pop out more. And it seemed to help a lot. Try listen to the master now. here’s what I did with this master.. so I used the low end focus to bring out the low end a little bit. just like one decibel and then the master rebalance tool, I made the drums pop out about three decibels and for the rest of this it’s pretty much the same kind of settings I would always use all right I’m gonna link Malik linux’s music down in the description so check him out he runs the radio show next I have this beat I mean it’s a little more mixed I’d say it’s heard it sounds like before and post massing I’m not saying they didn’t fix the lag but seems to like about the same as long as I made to me she’s me personally okay guys you personally while recording this video don’t fuck I’m assassinate the kick was way too strong on that one ie Q did a bunch which helped and I brought back some of the base by using the low end focus and then I’ve used the the master be balanced meeting snare out a little more okay here’s another B this one’s a hip-hop beat by me and this is what it sounds like beforehand like allies mixed sounds sounds horrible it seems like a lot of the tools are geared towards fixing bad mix tones so we can kind of see how both of them play with ozone then this would be an example of one with an extremely bad mix tone that open hat is just like ripping my ear off and then the base I can’t really even hear but yeah I use the the vintage settings on the auto master assistant and let’s see how that came out you some alone focus and bringing up just a little bit and yeah that’s pretty much it it just has a lot of the vintage devices on it I figured it’d be good for a hip-hop beat all right the next we got volt this is a remix by module I mastered this one this one’s a little bit different more like a wave track I’ll they’ve a different genre from the other ones let’s say this apply the cleanest mix down so we can see how how it behaves with a clean mix tone okay so what’d it sound like beforehand all right here’s what sounds like with the master Auto settings did this EQ for us I did a low in focus myself to bring up the bass a little bit alright so yeah it basically didn’t do much other than the EQ and dynamic EQ and the Maximizer I actually took off the dynamic EQ because I didn’t like the way it sounded this low in focus kind of helped bring up the bass a little bit which is nice I think I preserved the sound of it pretty well the can then lastly we have this song from us on it’s called blah so hopefully be on this page pretty soon so go check them out and down in the description and see how it sounds about mastering sounds like with mastering all rise only this song the loudest song I don’t have to play in post so yeah that was the song there and see what it did so the lone focus I put on myself the EQ it did itself but I wasn’t really that into the way it sounded so obviously I removed it it had this crazy EQ curve here just boosting the mids and cutting the loads in the eyes a little bit drastic in my opinion they had the dynamic EQ which I kind of was a fan of kind of helped preserve the transparency through the loudness yeah I think it did a pretty good job with this song I think they’re pretty good job with all the songs which is great because some of these songs weren’t mixed very well and it still saved them alright check out all these people down description again I think it’s not worth it to get ozone 9 standard because the standard version you’re not really upgrading much you just it seems like you’re just getting a upgraded stereo imager and the UI and a few ease of life updates the advanced version is only way you’re getting the low in focus or the master rebalance plugins you gotta get the advanced version if you’re gonna pay for this or upgrade I mean upgraded from like ozone 7 and I guess then it’s probably worth it to go to standard is it as good as it advertises yeah I think the master rebalance tool is amazing it’s exactly what also needed because ona has lots of great things to improve your master but not so many things to fix your master or a bad mix down and this was something to help with that as well as the low-end focus tool it’s a master assistance warrior yeah it seems to make better choices but it’s still far from perfect it seems to like mostly be good for helping humans as opposed to replacing humans so I wouldn’t really worry about that so much I was pretty impressed by the vintage mastering master system settings it was a fairly warm sounding and comparing that to the original of that mix down was this pretty night and day the UI looks a bit different but it’s not one comfortably different which is a point towards them alright let’s see as far as reading goes I guess I’ll give what was on nine advanced a 9 and the ozone 9 standard I’m gonna give a 5 or 6 strong five the light six and that’s mostly because you’re not really getting much for the up great but with the advance version you’re getting a really
